Matrix Recruitment is partnering with our client to recruit a Project Financial Analyst. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a forward-thinking engineering organisation where you will play a key role in driving project success through smarter financial processes and data management.
Working at the intersection of finance, operations, and technical innovation, you will partner with both Operations and Finance to develop, optimise, and manage the financial systems, tools, and reporting that underpin project delivery, making a direct impact on project outcomes and overall business efficiency.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
• Design, build, and maintain Excel-based tools, trackers, and dashboards to manage project finances
• Automate workflows and templates to streamline PO creation, invoicing, and financial reporting
• Lead the continuous improvement of financial processes through system-driven solutions
• Ensure data integrity across finance systems and reporting outputs
• Support the integration and optimisation of finance and operational systems
• Use advanced Excel techniques for analysing and modelling large data sets
• Manage purchase orders, subcontractor retentions, and support invoice processing
• Maintain structured WIP trackers for work-in-progress and invoicing
• Analyse project financial performance, highlighting trends and potential risks for review
What Are We Looking For?
• At least 2 years’ experience in project finance, financial analysis, or finance operations roles
• Experience working with operational and financial data in a project environment is highly desirable
• In-depth Excel skills (Power Query, Pivot Tables, automation, data modelling)
• Proven ability to build trackers, templates, dashboards, and reporting tools
• Strong data management, validation, and problem-solving skills
• High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines
• Proficiency in MS Office; experience with finance systems/ERP is a plus
