Our client is a long-established company who are creating a new organization to support their strategic direction. They are currently looking for a Senior InternalAuditor for their site, based in Kildare. This would be a very interesting opportunity for a progressive candidate with opportunities for advancement.

Your new job:
In this job, you will be responsible for planning and completing reviews of financial and operational processes throughout the company group.
You will report into the Head of Internal Audit. The role is permanent.

Key duties & responsibilities:

• Lead the full audit process and monitor the corrective action plans from any audit findings.

• Evaluate the adequacy of the control environment in terms of design and operating effectiveness.

• Work with the team and management to develop and execute risk-based internal audit plans to identify areas of risk and develop strategies to mitigate risk.

• Encourage the practice of adhering to strong internal controls across the team.

• Complete the audit plan in accordance with defined audit methodology, quality and standard deadlines.

• Suggest changes to audit methodologies and procedures.

• Review business processes and identify opportunities for improvement.

• Establish and maintain knowledge of the internal standards for the professional practice of internal auditing and the department’s methodology and processes.

What are we looking for?

• Qualified Accountant with at least 4 years pqe.

• Internal Auditing qualification preferred or a willingness to sign up to the IIA exams.

• Must have worked in an audit function, ideally internal.

• High level of analytical and IT skills.

• Strong project management and problem-solving skills.

• Strong knowledge of audit standards and best practices.

• Self-directed, excellent communicator, problem solver.
