Matrix Recruitment is currently seeking a Senior Accountant to play a key role within a busy finance team in a well-established organisation in Waterford.

Your New Job:
In this role, you’ll report to the Financial Controller and work alongside a supportive finance team. You’ll be responsible for preparing accurate financial records and management accounts, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting year-end processes, and deputising for the Financial Controller when required.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare and report monthly management accounts and balance sheet reconciliations
- Maintain and develop the fixed asset register and handle depreciation charges
- Oversee stock and sales accounting processes
- Coordinate the year-end process and liaise with auditors
- Conduct nominal ledger reviews and support with credit control
- Initiate efficiency-focused projects and support process improvements across finance
- Assist in performance calculations and handle ad hoc queries from the Head of Finance
What Are We Looking For?:
- 3rd level degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
- 4+ years’ post-qualified experience in a similar role
- Strong skills with accounting software and Microsoft Office
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and lead team members
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and discretion
- Positive, flexible, and solutions-focused mindset
- Experience with data analytics or Power BI is desirable
