Matrix Recruitment is seeking candidates for an Engineering Manager role on behalf of our Engineering client, in County Laois.
You will be in a leadership position overseeing the engineering function across multiple civil and infrastructure projects — ensuring quality, safety, and technical excellence from design through delivery.
Your New Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the engineering team, ensuring high technical and safety standards across projects.
- Provide mentoring and guidance to site and project engineers.
- Oversee designs, temporary works, and QA processes in compliance with Irish regulations.
- Coordinate with consultants, local authorities, and site teams to resolve technical challenges and support delivery.
What You Need:

Degree in Civil Engineering or related field; Chartered Engineer (CEng MIEI) or working towards.

7+ years’ experience in civil infrastructure projects (roads, utilities, groundworks, etc.).

Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.

Knowledge of Irish standards, Public Works, and NEC contracts.

Proficient in AutoCAD, surveying instruments, and planning tools.
