Lead Operator

Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Lead Operator for our client based in County Longford who specialises in manufacturing packaging and components for the polymer/plastics industry.
Your New Job:
The Lead Operator main responsibility is to ensure smooth and safe production operations by maintaining GMP standards, managing IQMS data, and supporting shift performance and training.
This is a permanent role on a 4-cycle shift – day and night shifts.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and GMP compliance; participate in health and safety audits and ensure proper waste segregation.
- Maintain IQMS system integrity, input production data, issue reports, and ensure accurate material usage and documentation.
- Create and distribute work orders and DHR documentation, support warehouse handovers, and assist in daily PIT meetings.
- Train operators on IQMS scanners, identify training needs, and support colleagues and management through effective communication and handovers.
- Act as Shift Manager when required, address production or safety issues promptly, and promote continuous improvement across shifts.
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment with a solid understanding of plastics and familiarity with IQMS.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively across all staff levels.
- Self-motivated and able to identify, report, and help resolve production, safety, and system issues independently.
- Good computer literacy and capability to manage technical or system-related tasks on various shifts.
