Matrix Recruitment is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer for our engineering client working on power and utility infrastructure projects.
You’ll play a key technical role in delivering electrical design solutions for transmission and distribution projects, supporting a growing division within an established engineering business.
Your New Role
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review engineering drawings and specifications for overhead lines, substations, and grid connections.
- Carry out cable derating reports, technical evaluations, and cost estimates to meet ESB/EirGrid standards.
- Support tender preparation and ensure all technical submissions meet client and regulatory requirements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to project and site teams during delivery.
What You Need:
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years’ design experience (10 kV–220 kV).
- Strong knowledge of ESB/EirGrid standards, substation and grid connection design.
- Experience across utility or renewable energy projects and full project lifecycle.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD/Eplan and solid MS Office skills.
- Full clean driver’s licence – travel to project sites required.
