What you need to know

My client, a well-established Digital Agency based in Athlone, Co. Westmeath is looking to recruit a Website Designer (technical) for their facility.

This is a permanent job with hybrid working

Portfolio of website design work must be 100% completion of the candidate (not as part of a team or passion projects) - essential

I am looking for an innovative and technically skilled Website Designer who flourishes in both design and technical implementation. You will work closely with developers to ensure the design and technical basis of the websites.


Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Design websites with mobile-first design mindset

  • Work with developers to ensure smooth implementation & site launch

  • Develop a range of design assets i.e. logos, PDF’s, social media graphics, web banners.

  • Set up website launches – web hosting, domains, ssl certs, redirects, email routing, FTP setup/testing.

  • Use of WordPress for updating websites

  • Support digital campaigns

  • Participate in various project work.  


What are we looking for?

  • Portfolio of website design work must be 100% completion of the candidate (not as part of a team or passion projects) - essential

  • 3rd level in Design/Web Development or related discipline

  • At least 2 years experience in web & graphic design

  • Portfolio demonstration of web design, logos & digital graphics.

  • Ability to put a website live with a coder

  • Knowledge of file types

  • Proficient with Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, WordPress & Acrobat Professional.

  • Understanding of domains and how they work i.e. DNS, FTP & SSL

  • Experience with Mailchimp or similar platform

  • Fluency in English – written & oral

  • Strong time management and multitasking skills

  • Willingness to grow as part of the team and be a strong team player.
