Matrix Recruitment Group are currently recruiting for a Site QA Manager for our client, a food processing company based in North Tipperary.

This role will have overall responsibility for leading the quality function of a large food processing and packing facility. Taking ownership and accountability for the Quality department’s performance against agreed key performance indicators (KPIs). Ensuring continuous improvement across all key quality metrics and driving a proactive Food Safety Culture. Achieve this through quality people and quality processes with effective engagement and maintenance of a quality management system in a lean manufacturing environment. 

This is a permanent role.

Your new job

  • Provide clear leadership within quality function

  • Develop a culture of engagement through involvement

  • Promote problem solving at all levels of the business

  • Support quality team meetings 

  • Coach and develop direct reports through regular one to ones and formal Performance review process

  • Promote an effective cross functional team approach.

  • Drive and support an effective quality / food safety culture within all areas. 

  • Ensure an effective HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) plan is maintained for all site operations.

  • Implement and develop an effective Food Fraud and Food Defence plan to minimise deliberate or intentional food safety risks.

  • Review and implement and embed an effective Quality Management System across all aspects of site operation.

  • Ensure effective monitoring and testing practices required are completed to a satisfactory level to ensure Company standards and customer expectations are met or exceeded.

  • Implement and maintain an effective internal quality auditing programme.

  • Ensure operative quality checks are maintained which will identify quality issues at the earliest stage in theprocess.

  • Ensure prompt escalation of quality issues.

  • Ensure compliance with any required customer codes of practice and certification standards (e.g. MPQAS, BRC).

What are we looking for?

  • Relevant 3rd level qualification in a food or quality related discipline

  • At least 3 years QA experience within the food sector

  • Previous supervisory experience

  • Ability to lead and mentor a team

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills
