Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit a Senior R&D Engineer for our client, based in the Waterford area.

This is a permanent role.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

• Responsible for leading the development of new products & improving existing ones.

• Lead a team through the new product introduction process taking projects from concept to product launch.

• Manages compliance within the team- including design control, speed to market expectations, PDP process, project schedules, budgets, CERs.

• Initiates and maintains all project management documentation.

• Leads the Design and conduct experiments to evaluate the performance of the product.

• Provide insights and recommendations for product improvement.

What are we looking for?

• Level 8 Degree in materials science, chemical engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or related field; master’s degree or PhD a plus.

• 5 years of experience in R&D of medical devices or related products.

• Knowledge of materials science, polymer chemistry, and optics a plus.

• Experience with experimental design and statistical analysis.

• Familiarity with FDA regulations and ISO standards related to medical device development.

• Contact lens manufacturing processes is a plus.
