     Senior Projects Manager – Capital Expansion Project

Our client is currently seeking to recruit a Senior Projects Manager at its manufacturing and innovation facility based in Wexford to lead a large Facility Expansion Project.   

The Senior Project Manager will have full accountability for the end-to-end delivery of a large-scale, confidential capital expansion project within a live manufacturing facility. This high-profile role provides overall leadership, governance, and coordination across multiple internal and external stakeholders to ensure the project is delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in full compliance with regulatory, quality, and corporate standards.

This position requires a senior leader with strong technical understanding of process plant and industrial manufacturing projects, combined with proven experience delivering complex, high-value capital investments in regulated environments.


Project Leadership and Governance

• Provide overall strategic leadership and client-side ownership of a >€100MM capital project from design through commissioning and handover
• Establish and maintain robust project governance, reporting, and decision-making frameworks
• Act as the primary client representative, directing EPC/EPCM contractors, consultants, and key vendors
• Ensure alignment with business strategy, operational readiness, and long-term asset objectives

Engineering, Design, and Construction Oversight

• Provide senior oversight of multi-discipline engineering and detailed design to ensure compliance with operational, safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
• Lead executive-level review and approval of design packages, value engineering initiatives, cost forecasts, and technical deviations
• Ensure constructability, operability, maintainability, and future expansion considerations are fully embedded
• Oversee construction execution, performance, safety, and quality through the EPCM partner

Cost, Schedule, and Risk Management

• Own the project execution strategy, master schedule, and capital budget
• Monitor and challenge cost, schedule, and scope performance, implementing corrective actions where required
• Lead risk management and change control processes in line with corporate governance and commercial objectives

Health, Safety, Quality, and Regulatory Compliance

• Champion a strong, visible safety leadership culture across all project activities
• Ensure full compliance with HSE, process safety, food safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements
• Provide executive oversight of quality assurance, inspection, and compliance processes

Stakeholder and Interface Management

• Lead and coordinate complex interfaces between EPCM, site operations, engineering, quality, maintenance, and senior leadership teams
• Provide clear, concise, and timely reporting to executive stakeholders on progress, risks, and financial performance
• Ensure minimal disruption to ongoing operations and maintain strict confidentiality throughout the project lifecycle

Commissioning, Start-Up, and Handover

• Provide overall leadership of commissioning, qualification, start-up, and handover to operations
• Ensure all technical documentation, training, and asset data are complete and transferred
• Support start-up activities to achieve required performance, capacity, and operational readiness

Experience and Qualifications

• Degree qualified in Engineering, Project Management, or a related discipline
• Extensive experience delivering large-scale capital projects (>€50MM, ideally >€100MM) in regulated manufacturing environments
• Proven client-side leadership managing EPC/EPCM contractors and complex stakeholder environments
• Strong expertise in capital cost control, scheduling, risk management, and governance
• Demonstrated experience delivering projects within live operational facilities
