What you need to know
Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Senior Learning Instructional Designer to join our client, a global financial services organisation based in Limerick.

This is a key role within a high-impact team focused on enterprise-wide professional skills development.

In this role, you’ll be responsible for the full lifecycle of learning program development—from needs analysis and strategic consultation to instructional design, delivery, and post-training reinforcement. You'll shape experiences that build capabilities, promote behavioural change, and support the organisation’s business objectives.

This is a 12 month contract role with some possibility of other opportunities or extensions coming up at the end of the contract.

The role offers a hybrid working model.


Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:
  • Designing professional development programs that cater to a diverse, global workforce.
  • Partnering with senior stakeholders to consult on capability gaps and recommend tailored learning solutions.
  • Creating high-quality assets such as job aids, eLearning modules, facilitator guides, and digital content.
  • Leading end-to-end instructional design using agile ADDIE principles.
  • Innovating across learning modalities including virtual instructor-led training (VILT), eLearning, and in-person workshops.
  • Managing project timelines, budgets, and vendor relationships with precision.
  • Evaluating program effectiveness and refining content based on performance outcomes.

What are we looking for?
  • 5+ years’ experience in corporate training, professional services, or education-focused roles.
  • Demonstrated expertise in adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and outcome measurement.
  • Strong consulting skills and the ability to influence senior leadership.
  • Proficiency in digital learning tools and platforms (e.g., Articulate, Adobe, LMS).
  • Experience delivering across multiple formats – virtual, in-person, and self-paced.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects, work cross-functionally, and communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with learning innovation trends such as microlearning, experiential learning, and reinforcement strategies.
  • Experience with vendor selection and content curation.
  • High attention to detail and an analytical mindset for continuous improvement.
