Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Senior Financial Reporting Accountant for our client, in the financial services industry, based in Limerick.
In this position, you will be responsible for assisting with the review of financial statements across the department in addition to identifying and implementing best practice across teams.
You will also work with the management team with regards to client servicing, new business opportunities and client due diligence presentations.
This position will suit you if you are a qualified accountant that has done financial reporting and has experience in preparing & reviewing financial statements.
This is a 6-month contract position with some possibility of extension or other opportunities within the team. Offers a hybrid working model, ideally 3 days in the office.

Key duties & responsibilities:
- Responsible for establishing best practice within the department to provide unrivalled client satisfaction and continuously improve the department’s service to clients.
- Responsible for the reviewing and delivery of financial statements to ensure that they are compliant with current accounting and regulatory requirements.
- Act as the main point of contact with each audit firm, work closely with the audit firms and facilitate technical briefs and updates for the department, thereby keeping abreast of industry and regulatory developments.
- Represent the Financial Reporting team at relevant external forums as required.
- Identify training and development needs and establish performance standards for the department.
- Guide staff in the resolution of non-routine and complex financial reporting issues.
- Liaise with Compliance and other relevant internal stakeholders where required.
- Instil a client service culture among staff and ensure that all clients receive a quality service.
What are we looking for?
- Fully qualified accountant.
- Proven experience in the investment management industry acquired through working in the fund administration, asset management or securities operations industry or audit industry.
- Financial reporting experience.
- Strong communication, first class presentation and internal and external client-servicing skills.
- Irish/UK GAAP and IFRS experience.
- Working knowledge of the Irish regulatory regime as it relates to Fund Accounting and Financial Reporting.
- Be an effective communicator, motivator, coach and mentor.
- Takes initiative to improve areas outside of immediate responsibilities.
- IT proficient.
