Qualified Mechanic

What you need to know:
Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Qualified Mechanic on behalf of our client, a leading Food distribution company based in County Longford.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Friday.

Your New Job:
The in-house mechanic will handle the upkeep, repairs, and servicing of our fleet of refrigerated vans and delivery vehicles. The mechanic will be crucial in guaranteeing that our deliveries run smoothly and punctually, while keeping all vehicles safe, compliant, and fully operational on the road.

Mechanic Responsibilities:

• Perform regular maintenance and safety inspections on all company vehicles.

• Diagnose and fix mechanical, electrical, and refrigeration system faults.

• Keep detailed and accurate records of all servicing and repairs.

• Quickly address unexpected breakdowns while ensuring compliance with DVSA and health & safety standards.

What are we looking for?

• Certified mechanic with qualifications such as NVQ Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or an equivalent credential.

• Experience working on commercial vehicles, with refrigerated van experience considered an advantage.

• Strong diagnostic skills and a proactive approach to troubleshooting.

• Valid full Irish driving licence, with a focus on safety, accuracy, and regulatory compliance.
