Mechanical Fitter
Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Mechanical Fitter for our client based in County Westmeath
In this role, you will be responsible for corrective, planned and preventative maintenance tasks, utilising core craft skills such as welding, oxy-acetylene cutting, fabrication, alignments, slinging and rigging, fitting and overhauls, as well as analytical skills and troubleshooting.
This is a permanent position, Monday to Friday role.

Mechanical Fitter Responsibilities:
- Lead and execute corrective, planned, and preventive maintenance tasks with a high-quality, "Right First Time" approach.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure compliance with company safety policies and standards.
- Monitor equipment, maintaining production levels while adhering to quality, safety, and engineering requirements.
- Complete and close out work orders efficiently and accurately.
- Participate in the fitting team callout rota and work overtime as needed to meet business demands.
- Mechanical Fitting qualification with 2+ years of mechanical maintenance experience in a fixed-plant environment (preferably heavy engineering).
- Willingness to update knowledge, attend training, and propose improvements to work practices.
- Maintains a positive attitude, sets high standards, and upholds company values and culture.
- Proactively identifies issues, follows company policies, and seeks approvals when needed.
- Demonstrates strong teamwork, stress tolerance, attention to detail, and effective planning abilities.
