What you need to know​

Matrix Recruitment is working with our client who are an established food company based in Co. Westmeath who provide solutions to the food processing industry in Ireland and the UK. 

As a Q.C. Coordinator you will assist in the overall management of the Food Safety & Quality Management System to ensure compliance with our legal obligations and customer requirements to ensure our products meet and exceed our renowned standards of excellence.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Reporting to the Q.A manager any breakdown in the Food Safety & Quality Management System. 

  • Assisting with the management, implementation and improvement of Food Safety & Quality Management Systems and Standards including BRC and customer standards.

  • Working with HAACP team and assisting in all site HAACP to meet regulatory and food safety requirements.

  • Assisting with internal, regulatory and 3rd party audits. 

  • Working with the Production team to ensure continued focus on Food safety, Quality, compliance, issue prevention and root cause problem solving. 

  • Daily testing of finished product, finished product label set-up and finished product allergen testing.

  • Conducting Q.C Checks such as Glass and Hard Plastics Audits, Weighing Scales Checks, GMP/Hygiene Audits and HAACVP Verification Checks.

  • Co-ordinate laboratory equipment validation including maintaining and replenishing lab equipment/consumables. 

  •  Annual allergen cleaning validation and verification. 

  • Addressing quality issues and investigate non-conforming product and customer complaints.


What are we looking for?

  • Honours Science Degree in Food Science/Quality management is preferrable but not essential. 

  • 3 + years’ Q.C experience in a food manufacturing environment.

  • Being able to work on own initiative and a highly motivated self-starter.

  • Strong knowledge of HAACP, GMP and BRC Food Safety Global Standard.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.  

  • Good communication skills and ability to work under pressure.

  • Excellent planning, organisation, problem solving and interpersonal skills.
