​My client a manufacturing construction company is looking to hire a Purchasing Manager. This is an Irish company who are continuing to grow in the Irish and UK Market. This job is based in their HQ in Co. Longford.

The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for the management of purchasing and procurement in the company. This is great job opportunity to work in a positive work environment, show initiative and drive change.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify and set up of new suppliers in line with company procedures.

• Carry out regular supplier assessment of existing suppliers.

• Negotiate agreements, prices, and maintain a strong relationship with new and existing suppliers.

• Assists with the management of budget spend.

• Responsible for company internal purchasing system, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.

• Forecast price trends and their impact on future activities.

• Setting, Maintaining and Reporting on Department performance metrics and work processes.

• Provide leadership, drive, and deliver on purchasing strategy.

• Oversee and management of a purchasing team.

What you need

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field.

• 6+ years of relevant work experience in purchasing and procurement within the construction sector.

• Strong background in business, commercial and negotiation.

• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Excel, Access, Outlook, etc.)

• People management experience.

• Experience collaborating effectively with cross functional teams with excellent communication skills.
