Our client, a very successful high volume manufacturing company based in Co. Cavan. This company is part of an international group with operations right across Europe.

They are keen to hire a Production Planner to join the production team for their Cavan manufacturing site. The Production Planner will manage and schedule all site production plans to meet customer demands. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to take the next step up. Plenty of training will be provided in this job.

This is a permanent job.

Key duties & Responsibilities:

  • Schedule Production for all lines considering all relevant input (sales demands, production capacity, efficiency, logistics, customer requirements and material availability).

  • Provide best lead times to sales team and weekly dispatches.

  • Allocate stock to orders or schedule in appropriate week with sales team.

  • Compile weekly production plan with Operation Manager.

  • Liaise with Production staff and dispatch with plan and material to be allocated.

  • Liaise with sales team on weekly dispatches.

  • Attend and participate in weekly production meetings

  • Carry out monthly stock checks.

  • Liaise with Operations manager on raw materials needs and liaise with Maintenance regarding a plan for unforeseen problems.

  • Ah hoc projects.

What are we looking for?

  • 3rd level qualification in Business/Supply Chain or Engineering.

  • Ideally at least 2 years working as a production planner in a manufacturing environment.

  • IT knowledge: Windows application Word/Excel to Intermediate level, including basic keyboarding skills.

  • ERP experience an advantage.

  • Excellent telephone manner, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.

  • Organisational skills, personal efficiency, time management skills and the ability to prioritise competing demands.

  • Excellent attention to detail with good communication and inter-personal & collaboration skills.
