What you need to know

A leading medical device company that has a global reach and is at the forefront of developing new medical technologies is seeking an experienced and committed Product Development Project Manager for a 24-month contract in Galway City.

As Project Manager, you will report directly to the Programme Director and use your knowledge and experience to successfully lead cross-functional teams to develop and manage projects for new product development initiatives and manage the lifecycle of products and processes.

This is a 24-month contract.

 

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Leads or leverages cross-functional teams to evaluate, develop and manage projects for new product development and ongoing lifecycle management of products, processes, and therapies.

  • Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as a liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management.

  • Manages the development and implementation process of a company’s products and services involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of new or existing products and processes.

  • Reviews the status of projects and budgets.

  • Manages schedules and prepares status reports.

  • Monitors the project from initiation through delivery.

  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.

  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem-solving with project managers, line managers, and clients.

  • Gathers requirements, and works on requirements planning, requirements and requirements management to ensure they meet the demands of the project’s key stakeholders.

  • Communicates with stakeholders and obtains stakeholder engagement to ensure the end products or processes will solve the business problems.

What are we looking for?

  • A degree in Science, Engineering, or another relevant discipline.

  • A minimum of 7 years’ experience working in Project Management with a reputable medical devices company.

  • Ability to work independently under limited supervision to determine and develop approaches to solutions.

  • Coach and review the work of lower-level specialists; may manage projects/processes.

  • Track record of taking responsibility for entire projects or processes within a certain field.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the capability to offer creative solutions to challenges.

  • Passionate about continually improving processes, systems or products to enhance performance.

  • Can communicate effectively with senior internal and external customers and vendors.

  • Experience in guidance, coaching and training colleagues.

  • PMP, Agile and/or Master’s in Project Management is highly desirable.
