You will work as a Procurement Officer for our client, a highly ambitious FMCG manufacturing company in Co. Longford.

You will be responsible for all supplier management, buying and contract negotiation for a very busy engineering department. You will report into the Engineering Manager.

Key duties & responsibilities:

• Purchase of engineering goods, materials, components, or services in line with specified cost, quality and delivery targets.

• Support the engineering function and other relevant departments and communicate any supply problems which may impact on engineering / business operations.

• Monitor market trends, competitor strategies and market suppliers.

• Provide analysis on costs, new and existing and review cost reduction activities.

• Contract negotiation , improve price terms with suppliers.

• Build, maintain and manage supplier relationships and keep up good communications.

• Conduct research for new components and suppliers.

• Compile data relating to supplier performance to enable evaluation.

• Assess and evaluate suppliers and contribute to performance reviews to ensure contract compliance.

• Manage suppliers to resolve price, quality, delivery, or invoice issues.

What are we looking for?

• 3rd Level Degree in Business/Supply Chain/Engineering ideally.

• A minimum of 2-3 years’ engineering procurement experience preferably within manufacturing.

• Contract negotiation.

• CIPS qualified or working towards.

• Strong ERP and excel experience.

• In-depth knowledge of order management, planning, buying and scheduling.

• Act on own initiative, strong IT, administrative, planning, organisation, and communication skills.
