What you need to know
Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit a- Process Chemist-for our well-established client based in the Wexford.

This is a maternity leave contract.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:
  • Ensure zero defects by strictly following S&OPs, GMP, and environmental standards, implementing corrective actions.
  • Understand ingredient/product characteristics, evaluate lab analysis (including GC results) for timely decision-making.
  • Take charge of manufacturing processes, provide instructions, and troubleshoot issues at control points.
  • Develop/validate processes/equipment for reliable product specifications.
  • Lead key programs in the Business Management System.
  • Establish quality standards for packaging, processing aids, and consumables.
  • Support external & internal audits, manage new ingredient/product introductions.
  • Attend pre-commercialization test runs to ensure production capability.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement and identify opportunities for process/productivity improvement.
  • Design, conduct, and/or review experiments for NPD & safety.
  • Provide technical support for contingency planning, supply shifts, and new products.
  • Assist in designing, developing, and championing the Quality System.
  • Flexibility required for additional duties and potential shift work.

What are we looking for?
  • Level 8 degree in Chemistry or Applied Chemistry, or Chemical/Process Engineering.
  • 4 years in regulated process manufacturing (pharma, food, beverage, FMCG).
  • Knowledge of Organic Chemistry, analytical results interpretation, & sensory analysis.
  • Experience in GMP, hygiene, and food safety.
  • Quality Systems management in a GMP environment.
  • NPI and technology transfer experience.
  • Participation in external & internal audits
  • Proficient in communication, presentation, and SAP/Batching Systems.
  • Knowledge of Beverage Technology, Quality Systems, and engineering principles.
