Job description

A leading medical device company that manufactures high-value packaging and components for the medical devices industry is currently seeking a committed and driven Metrologist to join their team. You will report directly to the Quality Manager and will be responsible Measuring Systems programs, tooling and instrumentation used to accurately measure products moulded.

This is a permanent role based in Longford, with an excellent salary and package.

Your New Job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Identify product inspection requirements through the interpretation of drawings featuring Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing

  • Work from written or verbal instructions, detailed engineering drawings and 3D models

  • Focus on writing and editing programs and inspection routines for CMMs, CT scanner, Vision systems and comparator

  • Carry out G R and R studies in Minitab

  • Involved with training QC staff on the use of metrology in best practice when measuring products

  • Responsible for being a technical expert for metrology inspections

  • Liaise with Quality Engineers and Process Engineers on continuous improvement projects

  • Maintain and support compliance to ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 system standards

 

What are we looking for?

  • Degree in an Engineering discipline

  • Strong ability to work with Autocad/3D packages is a must

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting engineering drawings

  • Experience working in a Metrology would be seen as advantageous

  • Attention to detail and ability to carry out work in an accurate manner

  • Self-motivated and have a proactive attitude
