What you need to know

A leading food manufacturer in Co. Offaly who is the largest supplier of products in its sector is currently seeking an experienced and committed Maintenance Electrician to support the company’s maintenance department.

You will report directly to the Maintenance Manager and will be responsible for preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairing production machinery. You will have a key role in ensuring the maintenance department meets its objectives and improves OEE, reduces downtime, and increases the reliability of equipment on site.

The company has an outstanding reputation for producing high-quality products and has experienced significant growth in recent years, its customers are nationwide, and they operate in numerous sectors including manufacturing, catering, wholesale, and food service.

This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Complete assigned maintenance tasks.

  • Take a leading role in the delivery of electrical efficiency targets for the plant.

  • Proactive in determining risks and opportunities with regard to breakdowns, and root cause analysis.

  • Ensure a high standard of safety when undertaking any tasks.

  • Provide a keen focus on the overall site requirements from the perspective of production, NPD.

  • Carry out equipment modifications where necessary.

  • Focus on continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Assist in training any new members of the Maintenance team or upskilling current members.

  • Work as part of project teams where required.

What are we looking for?

  • Senior Trade qualification (Electrical).

  • Experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a regulated manufacturing or industrial environment.

  • Excellent troubleshooting skills and experience in repairing manufacturing equipment.

  • Knowledge of PLC, electrical cabinets, sensors, testing equipment, debugging and systems development, programming, etc.

  • Knowledge of safety, documentation, and GMP.

  • Experience in executing planned preventative maintenance prorgammes and tests.

  • High level of enthusiasm and motivation and the ability to take direction from others.

  • Committed to continually improving the site’s performance.

  • Contribute to continuous improvement projects.

  • Team player who can work effectively and proactively on a team.

  • Good writing/record keeping (e.g., maintenance reports/job cards)

  • Proficient in all MS packages.
