Laboratory Technician

Matrix Recruitment is currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician on behalf of our client, a leading meat processing company based in County Tipperary.
This is a permanent, full-time position, working Monday to Friday on alternating morning, day & evening shifts.

Your New Job:
As a Laboratory Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out routine testing and sampling, monitoring quality and hygiene, and maintaining accurate records and reports.
Lab Technician Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine sampling, microbiological testing (incl. Trichinella), swabbing verification, and product quality monitoring.
- Ensure compliance with HACCP, hygiene, customer specifications, regulatory requirements, and third-party accreditations (BRC, Bord Bia, retailer).
- Maintain records and manuals, generate reports, and support the Food Safety & Quality Management System.
- Manage non-conformances, corrective/preventative actions, sanitation processes, and communication with customers, officials, and internal teams.
What are we looking for?
- Relevant qualification in Science, Food Science, or Agri-Science
- Minimum 1–2 years’ experience in quality assurance
- Previous experience in a food manufacturing/factory environment
- Strong skills in teamwork, attention to detail, communication, and laboratory practices
