What you need to know:
A leading and well-established manufacturer within the construction industry in Ireland and the UK is looking for an experienced and driven Head of Manufacturing to join its team in Longford.
 
As the Head of Manufacturing, you will report directly to the Group Head and work with them collaboratively to ensure that all orders are manufactured and despatched within an appropriate timeframe and to ensure that all operational, administration, H&S and business controls are adhered to. You will be required to have a hand-on approach to managing and co-ordinating all activities of the business.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Supervising and delegating duties across the team.

  • Develop business strategies to achieve short and long-term goals and maintaining long-lasting customer relations.

  • Provide market insights and strategic advice, whilst enhancing the company’s profile.

  • Responsible for estimating, design, operations, and sales functions and implement business plans to improve cost-efficiency.

  • Oversee business operations, financial performance, investments and ventures in Ireland.

  • Ensuring the plant meets their customer quality, service and safety goals through effective management of all sites.

  • Enhance a strong working relationship with all departments ensuring KPIs and budgets are maintained.

  • Ownership for product procurement and stock control.

  • Ensuring all procedures are adhered to and that the material delivery and returns are in compliance with good manufacturing standards.

  • Heavily involved in ensuring adequate materials are available for all production schedules.

  • Continuously focused on compliance and adhering to policing relating to quality, health and safety and personnel.

  • Ensure a culture of continuous improvement in production and safety.


What are we looking for? 

  • Qualification in Engineering, Business, Manufacturing or another related field.

  • Minimum 5 years’ Plant / Site Management experience is essential; experience in the building materials sector is essential.

  • Strong business and commercial experience with the ability of building relationships with key customers.

  • Experience in developing and implementing business plans.

  • Deadlines focused with exposure to meeting deadlines in a manufacturing setting.

  • Ability to liaise and effectively communicate across all the departments within the company.

  • The potential candidate should be seen as a motivated and proactive figure within the workplace.

  • Ability to excel in a high-pressure environment and to adapt.

  • Keys skills are required such as IT, organisation, problem solving & leadership.
