Matrix Recruitment are seeking to recruit – Forestry & Transport Manager  for our client, based in the East Cork Region

Fully onsite, required to travel to forestry sites & to Head office- Midlands occasionally.

Join their dynamic forestry team in Ireland where you'll help ensure a steady timber supply and manage transportation logistics.

Your new job
Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Overseeing the process of obtaining and transporting timber.

  • Purchasing timber from various sources.

  • Managing forest sites for safety & compliance.

  • Coordinating transportation of timber.

  • Managing logistics such as scheduling harvesting operations and handling residue materials.

  • Engaging with industry stakeholders.

  • Participating in events and committees related to forestry and transportation.

What are we looking for?

  • 3rd level qualification in forestry is desirable.

  • Proven experience as a forester in log procurement OR experience in measuring and evaluating stands of timber  in previous roles.

  • Experience in coordinating external haulier companies.

  • Knowledge of current legal requirements and guidelines as they relate to haulage.

  • Strong organisational & communications skills

  • Full clean driving licence & willingness to travel.

  • Excellent IT skills.
