What you need to know
Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Financial Controller to join a well-established, purpose-driven organisation based in County Cork (commutable from Waterford).
This is a senior leadership role with responsibility for the full finance function and you will work closely with senior stakeholders and play a key role in supporting long-term organisational sustainability and making a meaningful impact within a values-led environment.
This is a permanent role that requires on-site working mostly but offers flexibility where required, including around start and finish times.
Your New Job:
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage the finance function and guide, mentor, and develop the Finance team
- Prepare management accounts and financial reports for review by leadership and committees
- Develop robust operational and capital budgets
- Manage procurement, contracts, payroll, pensions, and risk management processes
- Administer government grants, donations, sponsorship income, and related compliance
- Ensure full adherence to external regulatory requirements
- Provide internal advice on insurance, legal, and administrative matters
- Lead internal and external audit activities
- Act as the main contact for IT at the site
What Are We Looking For?:
- Accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CPA, or CIMA)
- At least 3 years’ experience in senior financial management roles
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems and internal IT networks
- Experience in the not-for-profit or charity sector is an advantage
- Previous experience supporting or advising boards is desirable
