Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Finance Analyst to join a well-established organisation in the public sector, based in Kilkenny. 

This role is key in supporting financial operations, ensuring compliance, and providing strategic insight into financial management processes. 
If you have a strong analytical mindset and experience in financial reporting, this could be the perfect role for you.

Some training and support will be provided in this role. 

This is a 1 year contract with some possibility of extension and other opportunities arising as this is a growing team. 

Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:

• Analysis of financial statements for the relevant business area. 
• Consolidate monthly accounts for reporting to senior management as required.
• Manage financial data across multiple systems and ensure accuracy in payroll and staffing budgets.
• Work closely with regional and national finance teams to enhance financial processes.
• Assist with internal and external audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Participate in financial system upgrades and process improvements.
• Prepare financial reports and present insights to key stakeholders.

What are we looking for?

• Membership with or in the process of gaining membership of a recognised accountancy body (e.g., ACCA, CPA, CIMA, ACA).
• Experience preparing financial statements and financial analysis.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in financial systems, ERP software (such as SAP), and Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
