Our client, a global leader in the pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical sector, is seeking an experienced EHS Senior Specialist to join their Environmental Health & Safety team on a CONTRACT BASIS with an immediate start. This is a pivotal role within a high-performing site, providing expert support across General Safety, High Risk Work Programs, and Contractor Management.
As the EHS Senior Specialist, you will act as a subject matter expert, delivering technical guidance across site operations and major projects. You will ensure compliance with Irish legislation, corporate EHS standards, and industry best practice, while driving a strong culture of “Safety First” across the organisation.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide SME support in General Safety and High-Risk Work Programs (Electrical Safety, LOTO, Hot Work, Confined Space)
  • Lead and support Environmental Programs covering air, water, and waste management
  • Act as the EHS representative on risk assessments, change management processes, training delivery, and contractor oversight
  • Support site and project teams by participating in audits, inspections, incident investigations, and local safety initiatives
  • Carry out EHS assessments and audits of processes and systems, ensuring alignment with global safety and environmental standards
  • Report weekly to management on EHS KPIs, performance metrics, and progress against objectives
  • Promote and embed a strong EHS culture across all departments, leading by example
What Are We Looking For?
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science, Engineering, Safety, or Environmental discipline
  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience within the pharmaceutical, chemical, biochemical, petrochemical, or process-related industry
  • Strong, in-depth knowledge of Irish Health & Safety and Environmental legislation
  • Proven success in managing High Risk Work Programs and Contractor Management
  • Experience in supporting multiple projects simultaneously and implementing organisational change
  • Ability to influence and engage stakeholders across all levels of the business
  • Strong communication skills with a proven track record in building and maintaining a safety-first culture
  • Self-motivated, technically strong professional able to work effectively in multi-disciplinary teams
