EH&S Manager (6 Month - Fixed Term Contract)
Role Overview
The EH&S Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health, safety, and environmental programs to ensure compliance with legislation, regulatory authorities, and internal corporate standards. The role aims to minimize hazards, environmental impact, and workplace injuries while fostering a culture of safety across the site.
Working Hours

Monday–Thursday: 8:00 – 16:30

Friday: 8:00 – 15:30
Key Responsibilities

Develop, track, and report site EH&S objectives and performance metrics to prevent incidents and undesired events.

Ensure all employees and contractors comply with relevant legal safety requirements.

Identify training needs, coordinate EH&S training programs, and prepare training materials.

Identify unsafe conditions or practices, investigate root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Work with contractors to ensure compliance with site safety standards.

Conduct audits and inspections to assess risks and ensure ongoing compliance.

Assist in preparing and reviewing emergency and contingency plans, organize and lead Emergency Response Teams, and facilitate emergency drills.

Perform risk assessments to identify potential hazards and reduce workplace incidents.

Review planning and installation/modifications of equipment or projects to ensure compliance with legislative and corporate requirements.

Oversee the contractor safety program and supervise non-routine or high-risk work.

Maintain the site security program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Participate in EH&S committees and ensure timely completion of corporate reporting obligations.

Manage a permitting system, including Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and ensure all routine tasks are assessed for risk.
Skills and Qualifications
-
Degree in Environmental, Health, & Safety or a related field.

Strong training and facilitation skills; QQI Level 6 Train the Trainer or equivalent preferred.

2+ years’ experience in a similar role within the manufacturing sector, preferably in chemical or technical industries.

Experience supporting engineering projects and new product introduction (NPI) projects.

Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, independently and collaboratively.

Strong judgment and decision-making abilities.
