Matrix Recruitment is seeking candidates for an EHS Manager (Fixed Term Contract) for our manufacturing client based in Portlaoise.
You will lead site Environmental, Health & Safety activities, ensuring compliance with legislation, driving safety culture, and supporting safe operations across the facility.
Your New Role
Key Responsibilities:
• EHS Leadership & Compliance – Ensure the site meets Health & Safety Authority (HSA), EPA, and corporate EHS standards, maintaining a safe and compliant workplace.
• Risk Management & Investigations – Lead risk assessments, incident investigations, audits, and corrective actions to prevent accidents and environmental impact.
• Training & Safety Culture – Identify EHS training needs, coordinate programmes, and promote strong safety awareness across employees and contractors.
• Contractor & Site Safety Oversight – Manage contractor safety, permit systems (JSA), and emergency response planning, ensuring all on-site activities meet safety standards.
What You Need:
• Degree in Environmental, Health & Safety or a related discipline.
• 2+ years’ EHS experience in manufacturing, ideally within chemical or regulated industries.
• Train the Trainer qualification (QQI Level 6) or similar is desirable.
• Experience with engineering projects or New Product Introduction (NPI) from a safety perspective.
• Strong communication, training, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
