Our client an established and reputable retail brand are hiring a Company Accountant based in Co. Westmeath. This job would ideally suit someone pursing their professional qualifications.

As the Company Accountant, you will be responsible for the preparation of the monthly management accounts, and budgeting. You will work as part of a finance team reporting into the Financial Controller. This is a great opportunity to be involved all aspects of the finance function and the prospect of taking on extra duties in time.

This is a permanent hybrid job.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

• Produce monthly Management Accounts pack within strict deadline, reporting against prior year and budget.

• Preparation & analysis of various monthly reports and communicating results to managers.

• Completion of all balance sheet reconciliations.

• Bank Reconciliations.

• Reviewing stock takes results and analysis on discrepancies.

• Margin reporting.

• Consult with external auditors for the annual audit process.

• Ad hoc finance related projects.

• Support for the finance function.

• Recommend and implement process improvements .

What are we looking for?

• Part qualified accountant pursuing ACA/ACCA/CIMA accountant with 4-5 papers left to complete.

• At least 4 + years working in a busy finance role within industry preferably retail sector but not essential.

• Excellent PC Skills and excellent excel skills required.

• Strong people skills with ability to interact with diverse groups of individuals.

• Initiative-taking self-starter and able to work on own initiative.

• Proven ability to operate as part of a team.

• Ability to work to meet tight deadlines.
