What you need to know

Our client, a leading car dealership in Co. Offaly are seeking an experienced Technician to join their organisation.

This is a permanent position, working week Monday – Friday, 9 – 5:30.

Salary is between €37,500 – €45,000 depending on experience.

The Technician will report directly to the Operations Manager.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Utilize diagnostic tools and a methodical approach to identify and fix vehicle issues, ensuring thoroughness in the process.

  • Engage with customers to accurately comprehend their concerns as needed.

  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in vehicle technology and develop proficiency in diagnosing and repairing faults associated with them.

  • Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance tasks with precision and adherence to specified standards.

  • Prioritize safety by consistently following safe work practices for oneself and others in the workspace.

  • Collaborate with colleagues and supervisors for guidance and support in handling complex situations beyond routine tasks.

  • Validate the quality of work by utilizing diagnostic equipment and conducting road tests post-repairs. Coordinate with Service Manager/Advisor as necessary.

  • Document all service-related activities such as job sheets, pre-delivery inspections (PDI's), and service reports in accordance with HSO, warranty, and Brand/Dealer guidelines.

  • Uphold workshop cleanliness standards and proper tool usage, maintaining an organized and efficient workspace.

What are we looking for?

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Mechanic/Automotive Technician

  • Demonstrate proficiency in using diagnostic tools.

  • Complete tasks promptly with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Collaborate effectively within a team.

  • Exhibit strong communication abilities.

  • Proficient with computers; experience with Kerridge/CDK software is advantageous.

  • Hold a valid driver's license with no penalties.
