What you need to know

One of the world’s most reputable suppliers of state of the art of laboratory equipment and software is currently seeking a proactive and career-driven Automation Engineer to join their team in Co. Wexford.

As an Automation Engineer, you will report directly to the Director of Engineering and be given the opportunity to develop your skills and career with a world-leading organisation in their field. You will work on a large array of industrial control systems that will challenge your skills and create business advantages for laboratory-dependent companies.

This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package.

Your new job:

  •  Support site roadmaps, identify automation opportunities and provide solutions to drive productivity, reduce downtime, reduce costs and increase product quality.

  • Develop concepts, specifications, requirements, and documents for automation projects

  • Build, install and commission automation equipment.

  • Work closely with corporate IT/OT functions to maintain alignment with corporate strategy.

  •  Develop and maintain improvements to OT systems cyber security.

  • Develop processes and systems to drive regulatory compliance e.g., Machinery Directive, GAMP.

  • Ensure compliance with ISO9001, ISO13485, GMP, and regulatory standards 21CFR Part 820 in all activities

  • Provide day-day technical support for automated systems on-site, with root cause failure analysis for any impact to plant or production equipment.

  • Support Lean / Six Sigma projects.

What are we looking for?

  • B.Eng. / B.Tech (Manufacturing, Electrical, Controls) or another relevant academic qualifications.

  • Previous industrial work experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, machine builder, automation solution provider, or similar.

  • Strong automation skills, with experience in Beckhoff (TC3), Rockwell (Logix Platform), and GE iFix SCADA.

  • Experience with plant data collection.

  • Experience in working with EPlan P8 and/or Solidworks is an advantage.

  • Excellent planning, organisational, presentation, and communication skills, both written and oral, with a proven track record of delivering projects on time.

  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Understanding of Machinery Directive and ISO 9000, ISO 13485 Quality systems
