Matrix Recruitment is representing our client, A well-established organisation for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join its team. This is a full-time, in-office position based in Carlow, with an immediate start available for the right candidate.
In this role, you will handle a wide variety of accounting and payroll tasks to help ensure the smooth financial operations of the business. You will work closely with a friendly and supportive team in an environment where animal welfare is highly valued.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day accounting duties, ensuring financial records are maintained accurately
- Oversee bookkeeping and prepare financial reports using Sage 50
- Process payroll for approximately 30 employees through Thesaurus Payroll software
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation
- Handle invoicing, VAT returns (including postponed VAT), and debt collection
- Respond quickly to VAT deadlines and manage account queries and credit control
- Collaborate with team members to support smooth business operations
What Are We Looking For?:
- 3+ years of experience in an accounting role
- Proficiency in Sage 50 is a benefit
- Experience processing payroll with Thesaurus Payroll software
- Strong attention to detail, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Enthusiastic about animal welfare
- Proactive, with a supportive team approach
