Accounts Assistant
About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Accounts Assistant to join our clients finance team within the service sector in Tullamore, Co.Offaly.
We’re looking for a detail-driven Accounts Assistant to join our fast-paced finance team. Reporting directly to the Financial Controller, you’ll play a key role in keeping our numbers accurate, our processes moving, and our business running smoothly. This is a great opportunity to take on and develop new accounting skills and gain exposure across the finance department
This is a permanent position working Monday – Friday 9-5pm, fully onsite.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee daily accounting functions including accounts payable, receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
Assist with monitoring cash flow and managing working capital.
Ensure timely reconciliations of bank and supplier accounts.
Prepare journal entries, accruals, and other accounting adjustments.
Support the year-end audit process and liaise with external auditors.
Work as part of a team on projects to identify cost-saving opportunities and support continuous process improvement.
Manage relationships with vendors, banks, and other external partners.
Collaborate with HR on payroll processing and employee-related financial matters.
Key Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in accounting/finance, or Accounting Technician qualification
3–5 years of accounting experience, preferably within the service sector or fast paced environment.
Experience in processing and managing high volume accounts payable/creditors.
Strong working knowledge of accounting systems (e.g., Sage or similar).
Excellent attention to detail, organisation, and analytical skills.
Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines.
