What you need to know

A leading Irish food manufacturer that exports its products to 20 different countries across the globe is currently seeking a committed and passionate Sustainability Manager to facilitate and drive change in line with the company strategy to create added value and sustainability.

You will report to the Plant Manager and develop strong working relationships with staff across the business to develop greater sustainability and achieve key objectives around environmental goals.

This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

- Ensure that the site remains in full compliance with its IPCC license and all legislative compliance.
- Preparing reports for Environmental Agencies and Government bodies.
- Liaise with the Environmental Protection Agency on environmental issues.
- Act as company contact for all external environmental queries.
- Liaise with EPA / Local County Council on all Environmental matters.
- Conduct Internal Audits and Management System, and manage NCRs arising.
- Conduct Environmental Risk Assessments.
- Oversee the operation of the WWTP
- Oversee the waste streams and by-product processes.
- Project manage initiatives to improve the energy and waste reduction on site.
 - Be the point of contact for the group environmental and sustainability teams.

What are we looking for?

- A Third Level qualification (Level 7/8) in Environmental Sciences, Environmental Engineering Manufacturing, Business, or another relevant discipline.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Green or Black Belt certificate will be a distinct advantage.
- Good technical capabilities, communication skills, teamwork abilities, and initiative.
- Work well under pressure and under minimal supervision
- Passionate about sustainability, environmental matters, and continuous improvement.
- Proven ability to work well as part of a team and on own with minimum supervision.
