Site Engineer
Role Overview
The Site Engineer will support the construction management team by overseeing and coordinating on-site activities related to the structural and building elements of construction projects. The role involves ensuring works are delivered accurately, safely, and in line with quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out setting out, levelling, and on-site quality checks, including monitoring concrete quality through cube testing, slump tests, and related procedures.
- Inspect formwork, reinforcement, and dimensional accuracy prior to concrete pours, and maintain accurate material tracking and reconciliation records.
- Maintain detailed site documentation, including daily records of activities, site diaries, and uploading relevant information to the document management system.
- Supervise direct labour and subcontractors involved in various phases of the project, ensuring works are completed to specification and programme.
- Ensure full compliance with all health and safety, environmental, quality, and site-specific policies and procedures.
Candidate Requirements
- A relevant engineering qualification with approximately 2–3 years’ experience working with a main building contractor.
- Strong IT capability and practical experience using surveying instruments and site equipment.
- A proactive and solution-focused approach, with the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a wider team.
