Our client is one of the largest independent providers of shipping agency, stevedoring & Warehousing services in Ireland. They are progressive experts in discharging and warehousing all types of cargoes.
Due to continued growth they are now seeking an experienced Shipping Operations Lead to join the leadership team and drive operations performance.
YOUR NEW ROLE :
This role is responsible for daily planning and running of the Stevedoring and Warehousing operations, providing an efficient and smooth service to customers.
This is a hands on leadership position requiring a strong understanding of port operations, resource allocation, labour planning, cargo throughput and associated activities. Key responsibilities will include :

This is a hands on leadership position requiring a strong understanding of port operations, resource allocation, labour planning, cargo throughput and associated activities. Key responsibilities will include :
- Overall responsibility for the day to management of stevedoring and warehouse operations.
- Working closely with line managers to manage performance and work load.
- Co-ordinate and manage the operations team to ensure achievement of key objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement to enhance productivity, turnaround times, handling efficiency and storage utilisation
- Build and maintain strong relationships with all customers , clients, employees & stakeholders.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through quality of service .
- Foster a positive work place and develop a team environment.
- Drive a high standard of Health & Safety within the work force
- A formal qualification in a relevant discipline related to warehousing, shipping is desirable but not essential.
- Similar industry experience in a hands on operations / supervisory role is required and is a distinct advantage.
- Strong team leading skills are essential to ensure the smooth running of day to day operations.
