What you need to know

We are currently seeking a Senior EHS Specialist for our client based in Waterford.

The purpose of this role is to support the development, implementation and maintenance of EHS Management programme. Working within a larger team, this role reports directly to the HSE Manager.

This is a permanent position with a flexibly WFH policy in place.

Your new job

Key duties and responsibilities:

 

  • Support and develop EHS systems, i.e., See and Act, Site Indicators, legislation review, risk assessments, LOTO, Permit to Work and department monthly EHS meetings ensuring adequate support is given.
  • Ensures assigned projects are managed in conjunction with all company and legal requirements.
  • Manages development and training of site ERT.
  • Incoming chemical assessments for each area.
  • Develops, implements, and continually improve assigned elements of the EHS programme for the site.
  • Ensure compliance to Occupational Hygiene monitoring policies.
  • Provides support and direction for all departments in Safety and Environmental issues.
  • Support accident and incident investigations to identify effective preventative actions.
  • Conducting internal audits to ISO45001 and 50001 standards.
  • Support EHS Manager where required.

What are we looking for?

  • 3rd level qualification in a Health and Safety discipline.
  • Previous experience in pharma or medical device environment.
  • Minimum 3 years previous experience.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills as well as presented skills.
  • Demonstrated team player with experience contributing to multi-disciplinary project teams and ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with aggressive timelines at a high level of productivity.
  • Strong leadership skills with ability to take initiative and drive tasks to closure.
  • Must have strong IT skills and experienced using MS Excel and PowerPoint.
