What you need to know

Our client based in Co. Westmeath is hiring a Senior Buyer/Planner.

This company is a Global operation manufacturing medical device products.

They are hiring a Senior Buyer/Planner who will join the Supply Chain Team for a 6 month contract initially . 

This will suit an experienced Buyer/Planner with at least 5 years' experience . The Senior Buyer/Planner will have responsibility for planning and purchasing to ensure material is available to meet manufacturing demand.

The position reports to the Production Planning Manager.

This is a six month contract initially.  

Hybrid – 4 days remote and 1 day per week onsite.

 

Your new job 

Key duties & responsibilities: 

  • Issue and release PO’s to support manufacturing forecasts , and plans.

  • Facilitate on-time material available to the production line as and when required to avoid disruption.

  • Ensure supply of material to meet demand in a cost effective manner.

  • Highlight material shortages that will impact service and production.

  • Manage Non-Working Inventory for Commodities and identifying at risk items

  • Monitor inventory levels against agreed target levels.

  • Manage Phase in Phase out change to minimise business service and obsolescence exposure.

  • Monitor and recommend changes in system set ups to improve planning and buying effectiveness and system integrity

  • Develop and implement process improvements and work with suppliers on continuous improvement initiatives to improve processes for information flow and material delivery.

  • Liaise with warehouse to initiate and/or support inventory checks to validate inventory accuracy

What are we looking for? 

  • 3rd Level Degree in Business/Supply Chain or related discipline. APICS/IIPIM desirable.

  • At least 5 years manufacturing experience in buying, planning and inventory within manufacturing.

  • Strong MRP/ERP system’s experience and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft applications especially excel.

  • You must have strong communication and negotiating skills along with excellent organisation/time management skills.   

  • Must have the ability to work both independently and in a team environment while demonstrating initiative to lead in other projects.
