What You Need To Know

My client, based in Galway is looking to recruit an R&D Engineer II (Level 2) to work in their Medical Device facility.

As the R&D Engineer II, you will focus on designing, validating and testing cutting edge equipment and processes for medical devices in the Structural Heart & Aortic unit. You will be involved in the development of innovative products for use in medical device procedures. You will contribute to leading the R&D team in the Structural Heart business.

This is a 12 month contract job initially with hybrid working

Your New Job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Develop products for use in medical procedures

  • Establish cost effective and reliable methods for manufacturing operations

  • Implement and plan the introduction of new products

  • Participate in designing, validation and testing of new products

  • Source, test and approve materials

  • Analyse, troubleshoot and provide technical skills during research & product development

What are we looking for?

  • At least 3-6 years work experience as an R&D Engineer in the medical device sector – preferably

  • 3rd Level qualification – minimum Level 8 Degree in Mechanical/Biomedical Engineering/Science or related discipline with relevant years work experience required.

  • Medical Device technology experience

  • Experience in interventional vascular devices – advantageous

  • Proven experience in innovative design, validation, testing, product development & manufacturing

  • Dynamic team player, proactive on cross-functional teams

  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills

  • Self-starter, independent, confident & mature

  • Fluency in English - essential
