A leading medical device company with global operations who are experiencing strong growth is seeking an experienced and committed R & D Engineer to join its team in Co Leitrim.

As a R & D Engineer, you will report directly to the Technical Manager on-site and work to monitor and ensure that new products are being introduced through projects from the product design phase right up to manufacturing and streamlining to the clients’ customers.

This is a Permanent role Operating on a Day shift Monday to Friday Basis. There is strong flexibility on hours for the right candidate. There is also an excellent package on offer including in this is Pension and Healthcare.

 

Your new job

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Generation of product & tooling drawings to support Quotations, Prototyping and Process Development

  • Responsible for the development of Products, Processes and Equipment, including product and material specifications, material sourcing, equipment and tooling specifications and sourcing, process development and testing, to develop new products for customers or the Company from concept to design freeze

  • Development of Products, Processes and Equipment, including product and material specifications, material sourcing, equipment and tooling specifications and sourcing, process development and testing, to develop new products for customers or the Company from concept to design freeze

  • Ensure the requirements of ISO 45001, ISO 14001 and ISO 50001 are considered during design, development and new product introduction and integrated into production processes

  • Provide assistance and support to other departments including Production, Quality and Technical as required

What are we looking for?

  • A degree in an Engineering discipline is a minimum.

  • 3-5 years’ experience as an Engineer in a R & D setting is desired particularly in a medical device setting

  • Strong team player and possess the ability to communicate effectively with other In-house departments

  • Exposure to dealing with customers specifications and having a thorough communication with them during various projects is key

  • Exposure to manufacturing processes in a medical device setting is also desired
