Job description

Our client a reputable multinational who provides sterilisation surgical products to many of the world’s largest medical device manufacturers is currently seeking a Quality Technician to join their team in Galway.

As a Quality Technician, you will report directly to the Quality Manager and will be responsible for assisting the Quality department by reviewing quality systems processes and serving to improve awareness, visibility, and communication on quality initiatives supporting assigned quality goals and priorities as directed by Quality Management.

This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package. 

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities include:

·         Monitor and provide support with guidance ensuring that the Quality Management System (QMS) is understood and applied throughout the organisation.

·         Coordinate audit readiness and supports audit management for appropriate regulatory bodies and customer audits.

·         Investigate any quality issues to identify root causes and raise appropriate corrective action paperwork ensuring issues are addressed and resolved.

·         Direct the effective management of NC/CAPA ownership and ensure actions are closed within the specified timeline.

·         Gathering, trending, and analysing data to support the QA function

·         Ensures all training materials, administration and files are effective and up to date.

·         Assist in supporting training, and updating relevant matrix.

·         Coordinate and generate data to support the generation of weekly KPI / Matrix.

·         Logging and monitoring change requests, CAPAs, and other records as applicable.

·         Assisting Internal Audits as per the audit criteria.

·         Identifies, implements, and drives operational/quality improvement projects and initiatives.

What are we looking for?

·         Level 7 Qualification in Engineering, Science, Quality, or a related discipline.

·         3 + years’ experience in a Quality department within a highly regulated environment.

·         Experience as an Internal Auditor is an advantage but not essential.

·         Ability to plan, prioritize and effectively manage time and meet deadlines. 

·         Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to influence others in a positive manner.

·         Takes a data-driven approach to analysis. 

·         Strong knowledge of ISO quality systems – ideally ISO 17025.

·         Strong problem-solving skills.

·         Self-starter with the ability to execute tasks with minimal oversight
