Quality & Safety Manager

Location: Hybrid (1 day onsite per week required)

Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed Term

Hours: 37 hours per week

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a proactive and experienced Quality & Safety Manager to lead the organisation’s quality, safety, and risk programmes. This senior role is part of the Senior Management Team and ensures the highest standards of service delivery across all operations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement an annual Quality & Safety workplan aligned with organisational strategy.
  • Lead management of organisation-wide quality, safety, and risk policies, ensuring compliance with legislation, regulations, and best practice.
  • Provide guidance to managers on incidents, complaints, and safeguarding matters to ensure consistent procedures across the organisation.
  • Conduct and oversee quality audits and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Maintain the organisation’s Risk Register, identify critical risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Oversee QMS software, training compliance, and reporting of incidents, complaints, and safeguarding issues.
  • Prepare and present quarterly and annual reports on quality and safety performance.
  • Support managers and staff through training, mentoring, and advice on remedial actions to maintain a safe working environment.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Degree or Master’s in healthcare, quality management, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in quality, safety, and risk management, preferably in healthcare or social care.
  • Strong understanding of quality and safety standards, legislation, and regulations.
  • Safeguarding training/certification preferred; experience in Home Support Services desirable.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently or in a team.
  • Strong IT skills; experience with QMS software and Learning Management Systems desirable.
  • Full driving licence and access to own vehicle.
