Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Laboratory Technician on behalf of our client based in Tipperary.
What You Need to Know:
This is an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Technician to contribute to high-quality material production. You’ll be involved in hands-on and site testing, playing an essential role in ensuring products meet the required standards.
Your New Job:
As a Laboratory Technician, you’ll perform both laboratory and on-site testing on raw materials and finished products. You’ll work closely with production teams and be responsible for capturing and maintaining accurate test records while following set procedures and standards.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct laboratory tests on aggregates, concrete, and bituminous materials
- Carry out routine quality control checks such as slump testing, cube making, compression and block testing, sieve analysis, moisture and binder content, gradings, and on-site pavement tests
- Accurately record and report results in line with required procedures
- Work alongside quarry and plant teams to support quality and resolve any issues
- Ensure all testing complies with EN standards, company protocols, and health and safety guidelines
- Maintain laboratory equipment and keep calibration records up to date
- Collect and test samples from various sites as needed
What Are We Looking For?:
- Sharp attention to detail, with strong organisational and record-keeping abilities
- Comfortable interpreting and communicating test data
- Good team player with effective communication skills
- Experience in materials testing (aggregates, concrete, asphalt) is an advantage
- Familiarity with EN/ISO testing standards is beneficial
- Full driving licence required, as travel between sites will be needed
