What you need to know

Our client who provides innovative products and services to many of the world’s largest medical device and pharmaceutical companies is currently looking to add a Quality Engineer to its team.

As a Quality Engineer, you will report to the Quality Manager on site and work with them collaboratively to continuously drive quality standards. You will be responsible for planning and executing activities that will maintenance and enhance the company’s quality systems. Using the best-in-class quality practices and statistical techniques, you will support the complaint/CAPA investigations, improve supplier quality and ensure quality KPIs are consistently met.

Your new job

 Key duties & responsibilities include:

  • Act as a subject matter expert on quality queries and interface externally and internally with stakeholders to define requirements, communicate progress, identify solutions to quality issues, and demonstrate applied knowledge.

  • Manage and communicate the status of projects for Quality: prepare project plans, determine timelines and resources, present and effectively communicate information and progress to cross-functional teams and management.

  • Ensure management of changes associated with products and processes is carried out appropriately using science and risk-based assessment to determine impact of change.

  • Assist in ensuring that current compliance issues and trends, both internal and site impacted, are critically evaluated and training is provided where appropriate.

  • Analyse and maintain metric systems to provide feedback on quality performance.

  • Work with departmental managers to evaluate training needs and support effective learning interventions.

  • Responsible for coordinating internal audit schedules and liaising with technical management to ensure that all corrective actions are executed.

  • Support the site in the management of process improvements and technical developments in order to increase operational efficiencies and maximize output.

  • Initiate and drive Continuous Improvement programs.

  • Ensure the vendor appraisal process, validation, calibration and maintenance activities are effective and documented in a compliant manner. 

  • Close liaison and networking with other departments, to provide and drive quality inputs and initiatives into the overall operational activities of the company. 

 

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, science or a related field.

  • A minimum of three years’ experience in a regulated manufacturing as a Quality Engineer.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of quality management system, risk assessment, and validation practices.

  • Excellent attention to detail and passionate about continuous improvement.

  • Experienced Internal Auditor – minimum of one-year experience internal and lead auditor.

  • Strong understanding of QMS, NC/CAPA is necessary.

  • Ability to interact and influence at all levels within the organisation.

  • Strong problem-solving ability.

  • Good communicator both verbally and written.

  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.

  • Strong organisational and planning skills.

  • Ability to manage and deliver multiple projects in an effective and confident manner.

  • Ability to work closely with various levels of the organisation to ensure quality requirements are achieved.

  • Knowledge of MS Office applications, including Word and Excel.
