What you need to know

A leading and innovative plastics manufacturer in Co. Westmeath which is going through a period of exciting growth is seeking an experienced and committed Quality Assurance Manager to join its team. The successful candidate will report directly to the General Manager and manage a team of Quality professionals.

As a Quality Assurance Manager, you will have a vital role within the business and have responsibility for managing the Quality Team, Quality Systems across the business, ensuring that products and services meet clients’ specifications.

This is a permanent role with a very attractive salary and package.

Your New Job

Duties & responsibilities

  • Manage Quality Management System ensuring compliance with ISO 13485, ISO 9000:2000 and IATF 16949 regulations.

  • Oversee the internal audit programmes.

  • Provide daily support to manufacturing operations and lead a group of QA technicians responsible for quality checks.

  • Lead Quality Improvement initiatives and programmes of change ensuring agreed outcomes are consistently achieved.

  • Lead all third-party audits including customer audits.

  • Participate in and support all aspects of new product development, with a specific focus on quality matters.

  • Report on relevant quality performance data and drive continuous improvement processes within the organisation by offering your expertise.

  • Develop and mentor members in the Quality department so that they fulfil their potential and make a positive contribution to the organisation.

What are we looking for?

  • A Bachelor’s degree / Diploma in Engineering, Science or another relevant scientific discipline.

  • 5 plus years of experience in a Senior Quality role in the medical devices industry or a similar regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Previous experience in managing a team of Quality professionals in a regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Strong knowledge of ISO Quality System requirements.

  • Strong validation experience.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence others in a positive manner.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Comfortable liaising with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Strong track record in leading internal and external audits.
