What you need to know

An innovative company with a longstanding history of providing outstanding products and services to the automotive industry globally is seeking a driven and committed Production Supervisor to join its manufacturing team in Co. Leitrim.

As a Production Supervisor, you will report to the Production Manager and work with them collaboratively to manage daily manufacturing operations in a dynamic and hi-tech manufacturing facility.
This is a pivotal position for the company, where you can make a positive difference in the business. You will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations for your area, ensuring that lines are run efficiently, tasks are delegated effectively to staff under your supervisor and promoting best practices in quality, health, and safety.

This is a permanent role with an excellent salary and package including pension, healthcare cash plan and learning and development support.

Your New Job

  • Manage employee/team daily activities and performance (incl. attendance and holiday schedules).

  • Ensure equipment, machinery, tools & gauges are maintained in working order.

  • Installation and setup of injection mould tools.

  • Production planning and mould scheduling.

  • Enforce safety rules, regulations, and high standards of housekeeping.

  • Trouble-shooting issues with machines and moulds.

  • Carry out performance reviews with personnel under your supervisor and provide them with support to improve their performance and develop their careers.

  • Liaise with Engineering and Quality to resolve issues and reduce downtime.

  • Continually review production methods and operating procedures with a view to improving efficiency and quality.

  • Ensure all work areas are appropriately resourced and that personnel are competently trained to carry out their duties.

 

What are we looking for?

  • Recognised relevant technical qualifications

  • Two years’ of relevant experience in a similar position in a busy and regulated manufacturing environment.

  • Experience in supervising a team of Production Operators in a target-driven environment and fast-paced environment.

  • Ability to communicate and train others in the use of all injection moulding machinery.

  • Excellent personnel management skills and takes a fair and consistent approach to managing staff and personnel issues.

  • Passionate about coaching, mentoring, and developing staff so they reach their potential and make a positive impact on the company.

  • Computer literate (Microsoft Office; SAP an advantage)

  • Strong communication who can give concise instruction and influence others positively.

  • A team player who works well in cross-functional teams to achieve collective company goals.

  • Stronger leader who leads by example through their actions and remains calm during challenges.

  • Customer-focused, proactive problem solver who can provide innovative solutions to problems.

  • Results-orientated individual who has a proven track record in delivering to targets and deadlines.
