What you need to know

We are currently seeking a Private Equity Accounting Consultant for our global financial services client, based in Limerick (hybrid working model).

This job will suit you if you have solid experience in debit and credit activities and are comfortable working on IT systems and accounting packages.

The role sits within a team of 45 people who pride themselves on maintaining a friendly and open culture.

This is a 12-month contract with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. There may be opportunities to apply for roles within other departments also.

Your new job

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the delivery of high-quality service to each of the clients assigned to your team. 

  • Assist the Department in the annual targets of the business including the development of the Bangalore team and the automation of the PE’s accounting platform Investran.

  • Manage the preparation of interim and annual financial statements for PE Funds including the completion of consolidated financial statements for complex structures and listed entities. 

  • Active liaison with clients and external auditors, dealing with audit queries.

  • Ensuring agreed client service levels and regulatory filing deadlines are met. 

  • Oversee the preparation of regulatory returns, including compliance reports, Central Bank and CSO returns

  • Ensure NAVs are issued accurately and within defined timeframes. 

  • Ensure the accurate and timely payment of operating expenses.

  • Liaise with new clients to determine fund structure and level of detail required to support striking of NAV.

  • Communicates effectively with clients, investors and associated parties on fund activities.

  • Ensure that operating arrangements are clearly established on inception of a fund.

  • Ensure that documentation, legal and compliance issues are complete.

  • Keep abreast of current activities in the PE market as well as industry and regulatory developments.

  • Preparation, review & collation of reports for board packs.

What are we looking for?

  • Qualified accountant and will have previous experience in a busy accounting environment.

  • Experience in the production of Financial Statements and review. 

  • Must be a team player, customer-centric, have excellent attention to detail, positive attitude, enthusiasm, natural ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines and have good communication skills.

  • Detailed knowledge of Irish/UK GAAP/US GAAP and IFRS desirable.

  • Knowledge of or willingness to quickly gain knowledge of PE Fund Administration.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office – Excel and Word.

  • A track record in optimising system use and automating processes where possible.

  • Strong client servicing skills.

  • Demonstrates commitment to producing high quality work and to timeframes and deadlines required.
