What you need to know

Our client, a very successful and innovative company based in Athlone are looking to hire Payroller/Accounts Assistant.

The Payroller/Accounts Assistant, will be responsible for monthly payroll processing in a timely and accurate manner.  You will also work with the finance team in accounts receivable/payable and month end duties.

This is a 12-month fixed term contract. Hybrid working available with this job.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Preparation and completing of monthly payroll process for over 200 staff

  • Identifies, investigates, and resolves discrepancies in payroll records

  • Responsible for dealing with tax queries, holidays, pensions etc.

  • Ensure compliance with PAYE, PRSI and BIK

  • Adheres to payroll policies and procedures

  • Provide month end payroll reports to the Finance and Department Managers team

  • Assist in the processing of accounts receivable/accounts payable

  • Bank Reconciliation

  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations

  • Assist with monthly management accounts

  • VAT returns

What are we looking for?

  • IPASS or Accounting Technician or part qualified accountant

  • You must have 3+ years’ work experience in payroll processing and accounting duties preferably within a large company

  • Experience using Micropay and Sage is a distinct advantage

  • Proficient in Excel and MS office

  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills

  • Have the capability to deal with and solve problems and issues in the correct manner
