Matrix Recruitment are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist (EMEA) to join a leading organisation based in Limerick.
This is a key role within the payroll function where you will take ownership of payroll processing across multiple countries in the EMEA region, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency at all times.
This is a 15-month fixed-term contract with a hybrid working model (3 days per week onsite – Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

Your new job
Key duties and responsibilities:
- Manage end-to-end payroll processing for assigned EMEA countries.
- Review and approve payroll adjustments, ensuring compliance with tax, employment law, and company policy.
- Respond to payroll queries from employees and management, providing clear guidance on pay, policies, and legislative changes.
- Collaborate with payroll vendors and HR and Finance teams to resolve issues, test system updates, and support payroll system changes or implementations.
- Reconcile payroll tax and general ledger accounts, liaising with Finance to address discrepancies.
- Monitor regulatory and legislative updates, ensuring payroll processes remain compliant.
- Support vendor management activities in line with company standards.
- Act as a payroll subject matter expert, reviewing team members’ work, providing training, and offering back-up support when required.
- Represent the payroll function in cross-departmental projects and meetings.
What are we looking for?
- 2-3 years’ payroll experience, ideally across multiple EMEA countries.
- In-depth knowledge of end-to-end payroll processes, reconciliations, and general ledger.
- High attention to detail with strong organisational skills and the ability to meet strict deadlines.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Familiarity with HR and Finance functions and their impact on payroll operations is advantageous.
